No fewer than nine students of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Ilawe-Ekiti have benefited from the Widows, Aged and Orphans Hope (WAOH) Scholarship Programme held at Jibowu Hall, Government House, Ado-Ekiti.
The scholarship programme, an initiative of the Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Her Excellency, Mrs. Yemi Oyebanji, is designed to support 100 indigent students across tertiary institutions in Ekiti State, out of which nine students from FCE, Ilawe-Ekiti qualified as beneficiaries.
The initiative, implemented under the Better Opportunities for Affordable and Relevant Education Support Scheme (BOARESS), aims to provide financial assistance and encouragement to vulnerable groups, particularly students facing economic challenges.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Oyebanji reiterated her commitment to improving access to education and providing welfare support for underprivileged individuals, emphasizing that education remains a key driver of societal development.3
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the opportunity, describing the scholarship as a timely intervention that will significantly support their academic pursuits.
