The Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, on Tuesday 19th August, 2025 organised a-day orientation/training programme for its staff aimed at strengthening capacity, improving service delivery, and enhancing institutional growth. The event was attended by the College’s Principal Officers, including the Registrar, Mrs. Khadijah Wuraola Garba; the Bursar, Mrs. Mofolusho Olutayo David; and the College Librarian, Dr. Abdulmumin Isah, who represented the Provost, Prof. Ajigbade Ikuejube.
Speaking on behalf of the Provost, Dr. Isah explained that Prof. Ikuejube could not attend the program due to an unavoidable official assignment. He, however, conveyed the Provost’s goodwill message, highlighting the essence of the orientation as a platform to properly integrate staff into the system and equip them with knowledge about the operations of the College. He congratulated the staff for being pioneer workers of the institution and urged them to tap from the wealth of experience of the resource persons. He further appreciated the College Management for their unwavering support to the Provost in driving the vision of the College forward.
The Registrar, Bursar, and College Librarian each gave insightful remarks about their respective offices, outlining their roles, expectations, and the need for teamwork in achieving the institutional mandate. Their contributions provided staff with practical knowledge of administrative processes and responsibilities within the College system.
The training was decentralised into various units, with presentations delivered by resource persons from various respected institutions. Among them were Prof. Michael Ogunboyede and Dr. (Mrs.) Olusola Adu-Peters (Academic), Mrs. Azeez, Omowunmi (Registry), Mrs. Oyenike Vincent Akpan (Bursary), Mr. Mohammed Jamiu (Library), Dr. Adeyemo Dimeji (Health), and QS. Akinlolu O. Fadiyimu (Works). They gave excellent teachings on professional ethics, departmental functions, and effective practices necessary for institutional development.
Participants described the training as timely and impactful, noting that it offered valuable guidance for both new and continuing staff members. The programme concluded with an interactive session, where staff had the opportunity to engage with the resource persons, ask questions, and make suggestions for improving both administrative and academic processes.
