Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti Showcases Academic Excellence on Ekiti Radio PTA Educational Programme

The Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, on Tuesday, 30th June, 2026, featured on the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Ekiti State Chapter’s weekly educational programme aired on Ekiti Radio 91.5 FM.

Representing the College Management was the College Librarian, Dr. Abdulmumin Isah, who was accompanied by the Public Relations Officer, Temilola Mercy Ajide.

During the 30-minute interactive session, Dr. Isah gave listeners an overview of the establishment of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, explaining that the institution was established by the Federal Government to expand access to quality teacher education and strengthen the nation’s educational system. He noted that the College commenced academic activities in the 2024/2025 academic session and has continued to record steady progress in teaching, learning, and institutional development.

He also highlighted the College’s Dual Mandate, which empowers the institution to award both the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and Bachelor’s Degree programmes in affiliation with relevant universities, thereby providing students with broader academic and career opportunities. He further spoke on the various academic and professional programmes available in the College and encouraged prospective candidates to take advantage of the institution’s conducive learning environment and quality educational offerings.

Dr. Isah acknowledged the warm reception and unwavering support of the Ilawe-Ekiti community, describing the host community as peaceful, hospitable, and committed to the growth and success of the College. He appreciated the traditional institution, community leaders, and residents for their continuous cooperation in fostering an enabling environment for academic excellence.

Speaking on behalf of the College Management, Dr. Isah reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to producing competent, innovative, and professionally trained teachers while promoting research, character development, and community service. He also highlighted the remarkable strides being recorded under the leadership of the Provost, Dr. Smart Odunayo Olugbeko, in advancing the vision and mission of the College.

The programme host commended the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, for honouring the invitation and for its commitment to educational development. The radio appearance provided an opportunity to further project the activities, achievements, and academic offerings of the College to parents, prospective students, and the general public, while reinforcing its position as an emerging centre of excellence in teacher education in Nigeria
