Mr Lawrence Babatunde Aremu

Mr. Lawrence Babatunde Aremu is a seasoned administrator, accomplished public servant, and distinguished professional in Nigeria’s education sector. With a career spanning over three decades, he has made significant contributions to institutional administration, personnel management, and policy implementation within the college of education system.

Born on April 22, 1964, Mr. Aremu hails from Ita-Ogbolu in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. He is happily married and blessed with children.

He began his educational journey at St. Mary’s/L.A. Primary School, Ijare, before proceeding to Anglican Grammar School, Ijare, where he obtained his West African School Certificate in 1979. He later attended Ondo State College of Arts and Science, Ikare-Akoko, for his Advanced Level studies.

Mr. Aremu earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Lagos in 1985 and subsequently obtained a Master in Managerial Psychology (MMP) from the University of Ibadan in 1999.

Mr. Aremu’s professional career commenced in 1979 as a Clerical Officer with the Ondo State Health Management Board. Following his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) at Akpor Grammar School, Ozuoba, Port Harcourt (1985–1986), he worked as an Administrative Officer at Latkom Nigeria Limited, Isolo, Lagos. In 1989, he joined the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), where he has remained a committed and impactful officer. Rising through the ranks, he served notably as Acting Director, Personnel Management (2010–2011), and currently holds the position of Director, Special Duties.

A committed professional, Mr. Aremu is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He has participated in numerous training programmes, both locally and internationally, further strengthening his administrative and leadership competencies.

Beyond his administrative career, Mr. Aremu is an accomplished writer and intellectual contributor. He has authored over 250 poems published on Poemhunter.com, contributed articles to reputable academic journals, and written an online novel. He is also the author of “My Experience”, an unpublished memoir documenting his extensive service within the college of education system since 1989.

In recognition of his dedication and service, he has received several commendations and awards. His commitment to excellence, integrity, and institutional development continues to distinguish him as a valuable representative of the National Commission for Colleges of Education on the Governing Council of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti.

Mr. Aremu remains deeply committed to advancing the mission of teacher education in Nigeria through effective governance, strategic leadership, and service-oriented administration.
