The Management of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, has paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, CP Michael Falade, at the State Police Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti.
The delegation was led by the Provost of the College, Dr. Smart Odunayo Olugbeko, alongside the Registrar, Dr. Khadijah Wuraola Garba, and the College Librarian, Dr. Abdulmumin Isah. The Public Relations Officer of the College, Miss Temilola Mercy Ajide, formally introduced the Principal Officers to the Commissioner and his team.
Speaking during the visit, the Provost appreciated the Commissioner for receiving the College Management and stated that the visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship and fostering meaningful collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the College.
Dr. Olugbeko highlighted the vision and mandate of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, as a growing teacher-producing institution committed to providing quality education and contributing positively to human capital development in Ekiti State and Nigeria. The Provost further disclosed that the College has transitioned into a degree-awarding institution, noting that while the College previously operated 12 programmes, efforts are ongoing to expand its academic offerings to 25 programmes by November.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, CP Michael Falade, who received the delegation alongside senior officers of the Command, pledged the Command’s full support and cooperation towards the growth, security, and success of the College. The Commissioner assured the Management of a smooth and cordial working relationship and promised to visit the College in due course.
The Provost thereafter invited the Registrar, Dr. Khadijah Wuraola Garba, to give a brief overview of the history and establishment of the College, after which a vote of thanks was delivered.
The visit concluded with a group photograph between the Management of the Federal College of Education, Ilawe-Ekiti, and the leadership of the Ekiti State Police Command.
