Research and Paper Writing Workshop Concludes with Advanced Training and Grand Closing Ceremony at FCE, Ilawe-Ekiti

The third and final day of the Research and Paper Writing Workshop was held on Wednesday, bringing the impactful 3-day programme to a successful close with advanced technical sessions and a well-attended closing ceremony.

The day commenced with participant registration, mentorship, opening prayer, and introduction of guests. The first technical session was delivered by Miss Y. I. Nmadu, who facilitated a hands-on training on the use of R programming for data analysis. Participants were introduced to coding-based analytical techniques, strengthening their capacity to handle complex research data.

This was followed by a second session led by Dr. Y. I. Abubakar, focusing on the use of SPSS for data analysis. The session provided participants with practical exposure to statistical tools and methods essential for quantitative research, further enhancing their analytical competencies.

The workshop transitioned into a memorable closing ceremony, beginning with an appreciation address by the Chairman of the Workshop, Dr. A. O. Lasode, who commended participants and organizers for their commitment and active engagement throughout the programme.

 

In his closing remarks, the Dean, School of Science, Vocational and Technical Education, Dr Afolabi Akinjide expressed gratitude to the planning committee and acknowledged their dedication to the success of the workshop.

The Principal Officers of the College also gave their goodwill messages and closing remarks, including the Registrar, Dr. Khadijah Wuraola Garba; the Acting Provost; and the College Librarian. Special appreciation was extended to the Bursar in absentia for her support towards the success of the programme.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of certificates by the Principal Officers to all participants and members of the organizing committee, alongside honorary awards presented to the Principal Officers in recognition of their leadership and support.

The workshop was officially declared closed by the Acting Provost, marking the end of a highly enriching and successful training programme. Participants thereafter took group photographs and departed with enhanced knowledge and practical skills for high quality research and academic writing.
